Viola da gamba

Réka Nagy studied with György Déri at the Budapest Liszt Academy, and obtained her MA degree in 2019. One year later she received her diploma as a cello teacher. She studied viola da gamba with the guidance of Sándor Szászvárosi.

She has been playing in for several years in the Orfeo Orchestra, the Miszla Baroque Orchestra, the Budapest Bach Consort and the Custos Consort.

In 2015 she won Special prize of the Jury at La Stravaganza Early Music Competition

in Cluj-Napoca (ROU). She was awarded 1st prize and special prize of the Jury at the János Starker Cello Competition in Kecskemét (HUN)  in 2014, and 3rd prize in 2017.

On recordings in CMB Versailles, she plays viola da gamba continuo with the Orfeo Orchestra in Rameau’s Dardanus, Boismortier’s Les Voyages de l’Amour Michel Pignolet, Montéclair’s Jephté, Gervais’s Hypermnestre. She plays cello tutti with the Orfeo Orchestra in Lemoyne’s Phedre, recorded at Palazetto Bru Zane.

She plays viola da gamba in a recording with Luca Anna Várhelyi, Léna Ruisz and Alexander Gergelyfi performing Couperin’s L’Apotheose de Lully.
