Zsuzsa Tornyainé Dóry – cello teacher, former participant of the CSI program, graduated in 2013 from Ditta Rohmann’s class. She is currently a teacher at the Bartók-Pikéthy Secondary School and Music School of Arts in Vác.
In her pedagogical work, she includes not only the classical repertoire but also contemporary music, improvisation, and various alternative approaches to music education. For years, she has been leading improvisation (Soundpainting) and creative pedagogy workshops aimed at children as well as teachers. She is passionate about helping her students appreciate concert settings, fostering a connection with the audience, and sharing effective practice strategies.
Her students have won awards at the National "Alba Regia" Chamber Music Competition, the International Cello Festival in Törökszentmiklós, the Ferenc Halász National Talent Search Tour, the Veresegyház Festival of Works by Hungarian Composers, and have reached the finals of the National Antal Friss Cello Competition.
She also takes part in the work of the school’s string orchestra and leads the junior orchestra, for which she arranges music.
As a performer, she is a regular contributor to the concerts of the CentriFUGA contemporary music workshop.
Her work has been recognized with numerous special awards for teachers at competitions, several district honors, and in 2024 she received the “Köbüki” scholarship for talent development in teaching.
