Dag Anders Eriksen has been a member of the over 250 year old Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in Norway since 1992, after studies at the State Academy of Music in Oslo and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. The Bergen Philharmonic tours regularly in Europe and records for the labels BIS, Hyperion and Chandos. Notable appearances in recent seasons have been at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Edinburgh Festival, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and BBC Proms in Royal Albert Hall. Their recording of Benjamin Britten’s opera “Peter Grimes” won in 2021 both Gramophone Magazine’s “Opera Recording of the Year” and “Recording of the Year” awards.
In addition to his work in the orchestra and as a chamber musician and recitalist, he has for many years taught at the Grieg Academy for Music at the Bergen University. Besides CSI engagements abroad includes the MasterWorks Festival in the USA, Oratorium in Romania, the orchestra of the Bayreuther Festspiele in 2019 and 2021, as well as chamber music festivals in Sweden and Finland.
