PINTÉR, Dávid (HUN)

David Pintér was born in 1983. At the age of six he started playing violin in Veszprém as a student of István Káté. From 1994 he studied in the preparatory class of Béla Bartók Conservatory with Teréz Pichner and Erika Petőfi. He graduated at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 2007 in István Kertész's class, and studied for two more years under the guidance of Ulf Hoelscher at the Karlsruhe College of Music. He attended master classes of Vilmos Szabadi, Ferenc Szecsődi, Simon Standage, Ulf Hoelscher, Zakhar Bron and Eduard Zienkovsky. From 2009 he became a PhD student at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. In 2016 he received his doctorate, with a summa cum laude qualification.

Since 2011 he has been playing principal violin of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra. From 2012 he has also been teaching violin at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, and since autumn 2018 he has been concertmaster of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra. He regularly participates in chamber music productions, is a founding member of the Rondo Quartet. The Rondo Quartet had performed with Ferenc Rados, the Bartók Quartet and the Stuller Quartet. Their first CD of Ernő Dohnányi's two string quartets was released in 2017.

David Pintér has won many national and international violin competitions. In 1992 and 2001 he was awarded the special prize of the János Koncz National Violin Competition, and in 2005 he was 4th in the Canetti International Violin Competition in Miskolc. In 2005 he won the 1st prize at the OMDK Student Art Conference in Szeged and was wawarded the gold medal of Pro Arte. In 2007 he received a special prize of Artisjus for the outstanding interpretation of contemporary art at the Szigeti-Hubay International Violin Competition. As a member of the Rondo Quartet he won 2nd prize in 2006 and 2010 at the Leó Weiner National Chamber Music Competition in Budapest.
