CAVARRA, Angelo (ITA)
Clarinet
Born in Siracusa, Italy, Angelo Cavarra began playing the clarinet at an early age. He began his studies at the age of 11; he studied jazz with the likes of Paolo Fresu, Roberto Ottaviano, Giorgio Gaslini. Graduated from the Music Conservatory of Catania and then continued to study in France and Belgium. Obtaining the Diploma in Clarinet and Chamber Music at the Normal School of Music (“l’Ecole Normale de Musique”) with M. Guy Deplus in Paris; Angelo Cavarra continued his studies with international famous clarinetist Alessandro Carbonare, Philippe Cuper, Ronald Van Spaendonck and Calogero Palermo. In 2004 he obtained a degree in Artistic Teaching in France. In 2007, he obtained a master’s degree with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels and became a professor at the House of Education of the Legion of Honor in Saint-Denis, a commune in the northern suburbs of Paris, France.
Angelo performed as a soloist at the “Salle Cortot” in Paris, at the Grand Hall of the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Philharmonic of Paris as part of the “concerts at the Museum of Music“. He performs the double concert by Stamitz, the concertino by Weber the Royal Society of Harmony by Braine-l’Alleud and performs regularly in Belgium, Germany and Italy with the Trio Livia. He also collaborated with pianist François Weigel, the Tournai Chapel Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra Mediterranea di Clarinetti, and the European Union Youth Orchestra, as the first clarinet.
In addition to his work as a soloist, Angelo Cavarra is a committed player of chamber music and plays all styles of classical music. He believes in collaboration with other musicians. He was a member of the Trio “Instable trio” with a tango project. He is the dedicatee of the “Concerto Ensorcelé” and the “Winter Fires Sonata” by the Italian composer Joe Schittino produced by the “European Artistic Alliance” of which he is the Artistic Director.
In 2009 Angelo Cavarra wrote and staged the poetic and sound show “Italian sonatas of the end of the century”. He performed and directed the show for the first time in France, the “Winter Fires Sonata” by composer Joe Schittino recorded for the Label iM Classic (Eu). In 2011, Angelo Cavarra wrote and staged the poetic and sound show “Praise of Light “.
Angelo Cavarra has a professorship at the Conservatory of Music, Dance and Dramatic Art in Franconville and Eaubonne, Paris, France.
